Dr. Wang completed his PhD degree in Advanced Computing in 1996 in the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology(UMIST), UK. He is a senior lecturer in the School of Computing Sciences, University of East Anglia.

His research interests include Data Mining, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Neural networks, Genetic Algorithm(GA), Induction of Decision Trees, Feature Selections. He and his group conduct research on machine learning ensemble methods for data mining (classification, clustering, feature selection) and his methods have been applied to many real world problems in a variety of fields including industry, healthcare, business and finance, crime detection, bioinformatics. He has been awarded a number of research grants from EPSRC and ESRC, UK's research councils etc.

He has been the organising Chair for IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence Special Sessions on Ensemble Methods and Applications since 2006 and also the Programme Chair of the 12th conference IDEAL2011, held in Norwich, Sept. 7-9 2011.

He is now organising a special session on Ensemble Methods and Applications for the 11th Int. Conference on Machine Learning and Applications.

Research and/or study opportunities may be available. Please contact Dr. Wang for details if interested. Moreover, he welcomes and encourages any applications for research degree courses with their own proposals.
